“You don’t have to do this dad,” Damon whines as he tugs at the collar of his hoodie, “I don’t want to waste any time we could be spending on the road. We only have a few hours right? Let’s go.”
“Damon, I cleared my day for you so stop panicking,” I reply which makes Damon tense before he turns his head to look up at me. “We’ve got plenty of time.”
Damon focuses his deep blues on me as he tries to get his words out, “you…” he starts before he pauses for a moment and tries again, “you did?”
“Of course I did,” I reply with a kind smile, “today’s about me and you.”
