Jayson’s POV

My internal clock wakes me up before my set one does, allowing me to take off the one that would blare awake any second now. I try to be quiet about it, not wanting to wake Levi, but when I glance over my shoulder and find the other side of the bed empty I sigh.

Today was supposed to be his day off, to rest and take things easy. He wasn’t supposed to be up at six am, and he definitely wasn’t supposed to be out of bed.

Climbing out of bed, I rush through my morning routine before heading out of the pack house to where I knew the wolves who were supposed to be would be waiting, along with the one who wasn’t.
