“They’re some attractions in the area we can check out, and we’ve got lots planned out, but we’ll take it easy by day,” Julian promises with a sweet smile I knew he saved for only the people standing here.
“W-We’ll have a barbeque,” Peter says while twisting his ski mask between his fingers. “V-Veggie and meats!”
“Plus, lots of games,” Jayson points out. “I learned Monopoly and UNO for this!”
“Yes, we’re all very proud of you, runt,” Aiden says sarcastically, earning him a tongue out from Jayson.
“Ooo! Ooo! The best part is that we’re all sharing a family cabin, so it’s like a big sleepover!” Hagen adds while he practically vibrates from excitement. “Plus, there’s so much food, Will! You won’t believe it! They pulled out all the stops for you!”
“For me?” I ask when I finally find my voice.
It was hard to speak, let alone comprehend everything they were saying when my mind was settled on their first words.
