Theo’s POV

“Damon,” A voice calls, sounding both scared and full of joy, “Damon?  Can you hear me, kid?”

“Come on pup,” Another encourages with just as much emotion as the first, “open your eyes.”

Without permission, my eyes open slowly as I begin to come to, my body following the voices like a thread, forcing me to push past all the aches and pains. 

My body… I had a body, a physical one that was throbbing all over with pain, a raw type of agony that I’d never felt before as a spirit. This was new and different, and I was breathing, taking air into my lungs and actually breathing.

I was alive, in a physical body, not a spirit’s shell.
