Virion’s POV
“I just mean that it would be rather smart for you to try and cover your tracks as the mediator when you, more than most seated here, would have reason to steal from Virion.”
My eyes widen to the same measure Mother’s does as she gazes unseeingly at Ciradyl, who does nothing but strengthen her position under the room’s shared gaze.
“We are all well aware that Mother is not one for treasures, but Wona is, and there is nothing Mother would not do for her.”
“Except steal from one of my own,” Mother defends hurriedly. “I am not that cruel.”
There was truth to that.
Mother was not an inherently cruel soul, especially when it came to us, but it was true as well that her boundaries shattered as if they never even existed when Wona was involved.
“And say it was me,” she continues as she draws herself upright to properly glare at Ciradyl. “What would she even do with it? Wear it in secret for the rest of our lives? Forever fearful of being found out by your brother?”
“That would seem rather foolish,” Irros agrees with a firmed nod.
“Because it is,” Mother snides venomously, and she eyes Ciradyl with clear annoyance for having to do so, before something sparks within her gaze. “But you…”
“What?” Ciradyl challenges readily. “I am actually curious to know what purpose I would ever hold for circumventing Virion’s most coveted possession?”
She shuffles forward and places her face within her hands to gaze at Mother, almost giddy in her wait.
“You always thought it was ugly,” Mother deadpans, and this time, it is my gasp, not Wona’s, that fills the room.
I turn to Ciradyl, and horror engulfs her whole as she suddenly drops a shade before my very eyes, her ears twitching restfully.
“U-Ugly?” I can barely get the abhorrent word past my tongue.
“Not ugly,” Ciradyl corrects with sorrow in her gaze. “Simply… not my taste.”
“Not…” I shake my head and take a step back before whatever curses her finds me too. “You are a heathen.”
I knew not everyone was lucky enough to share my taste or eye for beauty, but I had liked to believe that Ciradyl was at least capable of noticing when a thing was beautiful. Apparently, I had been most wrong, and she was more lost than most.
“That gives purpose,” Mother decides as she finally relaxes, pleased. “She took it to get rid of it.”
“I did not,” Ciradyl denies, and she passes our Mother and equally scathing gaze that promises retribution in the near future. “All my movements are well documented by my schedule and any investigation will see to that. I am innocent, but I still hold to my theory about you, Mother.”
“I bet you do,” Mother seizes, the two of them on a fresh battle.
This family has quickly become one I am obsessed with its not even funny
Thoughts????
There’s more of this madness coming up in the extra, and it’s filled with all the dramatics and laughs you can expect from Virion.
I’ll have it out by tomorrow for the Rose Gold and Gold tiers so keep your ears and eyes peeled!
Love you all,
Tippy
