“Which one is yours?” Colson asks, and Zhoron’s dark brows furrow instantly.

“I do not have a room,” he answers carefully, confusion clouding his already milky eyes. “But they are all equally furnished. You will be comfortable in any you choose.”

I frown and catch Colson do the same.

Something about how he’d said that made it seem like—

“You think we’re sleeping separately?” I ask it first as I gaze up at him. “In different rooms?”

Zhoron looks between us, visual nerves taking root again, because yes— apparently he really did think that after everything that’s happened, and everything we just spoke about.

His wings shutter at his back, his lips parting only to clamp shut as Colson steps up to him. He invades his space and stands as though they still reach eye-to-eye, as if Zhoron doesn’t tower over us both now, but it doesn’t matter to him.

His rage more than makes up for it.

“We’re sharing a room tonight, and a bed too,” Colson grits out, eyes glowing, “just as we will be doing for the foreseeable future.”

Zhoron’s eyes widen, his shock as real as mine, not that I expected anything else to happen tonight, but— foreseeable future? I liked the sound of that a lot.
Zhoron glances at me as though he thinks I’ll protest, but I’m not the one who needed to get to the programme.

“Okay,” he manages, almost stammering it out. “If that is what you want—”

“It is,” Colson cuts in. “And it’s what you want too, correct?”

His stare dares him to say otherwise, and where he’d usually get annoyed or offended, guilt pushes Zhoron’s shoulders down while the rest of him visibly softens.

“Yes, it is what I want. I—” he pauses as if he’s not sure he wants to admit to anything more, but then, “I want it very much.”

Thoughts on Jacob’s POV? On this glimpse into the extra??? On this random setting?

I would love to hear any theories cause last we heard, they were supposed to be heading home!

Anyway, I’m already 2/3 through, and on the last of their POVs! I should have it to you all by Thursday at the latest!
