Life was a strange thing.

Before I met Emitt, I spent the first half of my life thinking that in the future, I’d be the beta of my pack and spend my life supporting my best friend. If I was lucky enough, I’d have a mate and we’d have some pups and that would be that.

I never thought about the science behind the mating or the pup-making. After all, I figured my mate would be a woman and I’d be on top, because that was generally how things worked.
