When I was a kid, I had simple goals. I wanted to be the best alpha ever and the best mate ever. To be the former, I wanted to be as strong as my old man and as smart as my Dad. The latter turned out to be the harder of the two because, as it turned out, ‘Julian always knows’.

It was a saying that passed through the family and the pack, too and always proved itself to be true after a matter of time. No matter how hard you tried to hide something, odds were, Dad knew, even if he didn’t let on as much. It was his superpower, and as a kid, it was one I wanted very much.
