“Hagen and Josey slept over at Wren’s house after the party so they won’t be back for a few hours, oh and Peter is out with Shilao today, so you’re going to be home alone,”

“Okay,” Aiden mumbles quietly.

Holding my own gaze in the bathroom mirror, I catch the flicker of pain that sparks at his lack of… well, everything. I push it away before it can find its way into our bond and instead focus on combing my hair into something presentable.

“You can have last night’s leftovers for lunch, or maybe go for a hunt, if you’re up for it.”

It was a hopeful suggestion I made daily and every day, Aiden never took me up on it, he’d grown a preference for staying within the confines of the house instead.
