Sometimes I wondered what I did to deserve a linker.

I mean, I knew from early on that I wasn’t necessarily the nicest person in the world, but I generally minded my business and didn’t bother anyone, so why was I being punished like this? Surely nothing could’ve been so terrible as to warrant this– a werewolf as a partner – albeit a perfect one – who was a wonderful father, but sadly, also… a righteous angel.

“Kat, are you listening to me?”

I drag my eyes above the edge of my book to meet Apollos’ grey ones. “No.” He frowns. “I’m sorry, but you know how I am about listening to shit I don’t want to hear– I zone out.”
